Why it matters for Kennesaw companies
Plenty of Kennesaw businesses run more than one site: an office near Town Center and a warehouse off Chastain Road, or a main store and a second location in Acworth or Woodstock. Staff live all over Cobb, Cherokee, Bartow and Paulding counties, and many split time between work and home. Microsoft 365 is the simplest way to tie that together, but only when it's set up with care. A default setup leaves sharing wide open, security features turned off and files scattered across personal OneDrives.
What we set up and manage
- Email: Exchange Online with strong spam and phishing filtering, shared mailboxes for orders, billing or front desk, and correct SPF, DKIM and DMARC entries so criminals have a harder time sending mail as you.
- Files: SharePoint and Teams sites organized by department, location or customer, with permissions that match who should see what. OneDrive for personal working files.
- Security: MFA for everyone, conditional access that blocks risky sign-ins, and old sign-in methods switched off.
- Devices: laptops, tablets and phones enrolled in Intune. New machines configure themselves, company data stays protected, and a lost device can be wiped remotely.
- Teams and phones: chat and meetings for the office, and Teams Phone if you want to retire an aging phone system.
- Licensing: the right plan for each person, reviewed regularly so you aren't paying for seats nobody uses.
Frontline and shared devices
Warehouse staff, store associates and shift workers don't need the same license as an accountant. Microsoft offers frontline plans that cost less and cover what these roles actually use, such as Teams, shift schedules and web versions of Office. Shared PCs on a shipping desk or a store counter can be set up so each person signs in with their own account, while the machine itself stays locked down. Handheld scanners and tablets can run in a kiosk mode that only allows the apps you choose. Getting this right saves money and closes a common security gap.
Onboarding with KSU-sized turnover
Employers near Kennesaw State often take on interns and recent graduates in waves. With Intune and Microsoft 365 set up properly, a new person can open a fresh laptop, sign in and have their email, Teams, files and apps install on their own. When they leave, one change in the admin center closes their access everywhere. We build that into a checklist so it happens the same way every time.
Moving off the old server
Many north Cobb offices still have a server in a closet that holds files, logins and maybe an accounting or inventory database. It's out of warranty and the office stops if it fails. Moving files to SharePoint and logins to Microsoft Entra ID removes that single point of failure. Some programs, such as certain warehouse, ERP or practice management systems, still need a server, either on site or hosted. We check each application with its vendor and recommend what goes where, then move in stages after hours with a rollback plan.
Your internet connection becomes critical
Once email, files and calling move online, an outage at the modem halts the business. Most addresses along I-75, Barrett Parkway and Chastain Road have more than one wired provider. We help you pick the main line and, where downtime is expensive, add a second provider or a cellular backup that takes over automatically.
Order desks and shared inboxes
At many distributors and service firms, purchase orders, delivery questions and quote requests land in one shared address like orders@ or dispatch@. When that is a single mailbox whose password gets passed around, nobody knows who answered what, and one leaked password exposes every customer conversation. We convert it to a proper shared mailbox in Exchange Online, give each person their own sign-in to it, and keep a record of who replied. If your team prefers, the same inbox can feed a Teams channel so the warehouse sees new orders without opening Outlook.
Ongoing care
Microsoft adds and changes features every month. We track those changes, review your security score and sign-in alerts, add and remove users, and adjust licenses as your staff grows or shrinks. You get a short summary at each quarterly review so you know what changed and why.
Questions about microsoft 365 & cloud
Do warehouse and store staff need full Microsoft 365 licenses?
Often not. Frontline plans cover email, Teams and web apps at a lower cost. We review each role and match the license to what that person actually does.
Can you move us from Google Workspace?
Yes. We plan the move so mail, calendars and files transfer without loss, and we train staff on the differences. If Google suits you better, we can support it instead.
